Miley’s back, y’all!
In an interview with Billboard that was released today, Miley Cyrus has revealed that she’s releasing a new single on May 11.
It’s called “Malibu” and she wrote it in an Uber on her way to a taping of The Voice. The author of the article described Miley’s new music as “an unprecedented dose of twang to a mix that includes quiet acoustic turns and epic pop.”
The article covers a lot of things, from her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, to quitting smoking, and her sister Noah.
She also says that her new album is political and personal, and a lot of it was written by her. There’s a song on there about Hillary Clinton, and one about women in the workplace. “This record is a reflection of the fact that yes, I don’t give a fuck,” she told Billboard, “but right now is not a time to not give a fuck about people.”

Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, told Billboard, “this is Miley leaning into her roots more than I’ve ever heard,” which gives me hope for a real country-influenced album.
Yep, I’m hanging out for “Hoedown Throwdown” 2.0.
